BPAY APIs privacy collection statement

Introduction

a) In using the BPAY APIs, you may give us personal information or you may grant us authorisation to access personal information through third parties.

(b) We understand that your personal information is important, and we take your privacy very seriously. This privacy collection statement as well as our privacy policy contains further details about our privacy handling practices. This privacy collection statement applies in addition to, and does not replace, our privacy policy.

(i) “we”, “us” and “our” means BPAY Group Pty Ltd (ABN 60 003 311 644) of Level 1, 255 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000; and

(ii)“you” and “your” means the businesses for whom you are using the BPAY APIs, or (where you are using the BPAY APIs for your own purposes) you.

Why We Collect Your Personal Information

(a) We collect and use personal information about you to provide the products and services you request from us and to provide you access to the BPAY APIs.

(b) We may also use your personal information:

(i) to promote our goods and services and those of third parties which we believe may be of interest to you. You can opt out of receiving such notifications at any time by using the unsubscribe method set out in the relevant communication, or by contacting our Privacy Officer (contact details are set out below); and

(ii) in an aggregated and de-identified form for statistical, analytical, research, quality assurance, product improvement and other purposes, provided that no details regarding you (including your identify, financial institution account details or otherwise) can reasonably be derived from the information.

Who Do We Disclose Your Personal Information To

(a) We may disclose your personal information to our third-party service providers whom we engage to provide goods or services (our service providers), but only for the purpose of providing goods or services to us. We require our service providers to agree to appropriate privacy restrictions, and only permit them to access personal information to the extent needed to provide goods or services to us.

(b) We may also disclose your personal information:

(i) to our related entities (including BPAY Pty Ltd ABN 69 079 137 518), who will only use such personal information in the same manner that we may; and

(ii) to third parties where authorised or required by law.

(d) Some recipients of your personal information or their processing agents may be located overseas.

If You Do Not Want Us To Collect Your Personal Information

While you are under no obligation to provide us with your personal information, you will, unfortunately, not be able to use the BPAY APIs if you do not provide us with the personal information we ask you.
